I am really in love with this old school card design one can choose for their Discover It Cashback or Discover It Miles credit cards. Looks very similar to the vintage original Sears Discover cards from the late 80’s — brings back memories!
So I just got this Discover It Miles card recently as part of a 15 credit card App-O-Rama I did over a couple days a few weeks back — which I’ll write about very soon in upcoming post. It’s called a Miles card but really has nothing to do with miles. It’s just 1.5% CB credit card, with double cashback the first year; so 3% unlimited cashback the first year, along with a $100/$100 referral sign up bonus.
Anyways I really disliked the “Miles” printed on the card and the limited color / card design options they had for this card — again it’s a cashback card not an airline points card for me. Here are the ugly options I was presented. I went with the pink one initially:
So I saw the Dawn of Discover design and fell in love with it and ordered it. Received it a few days ago. Here is my actual Discover It Miles card I scanned in with my flat bed scanner, which I subsequently cleaned up in Photoshop. Much more gorgeous than the cards above.
It looks a lot like the old vintage cards — see image below.
So this design does not have the annoying “Miles” printed on it and also has a very cool vintage design. There are a lot of other cool designs as ya know, like the mix tape and boombox. I use the mix tape design for my Discover It Cashback card.
This card will be my most powerful unlimited cashback card for the next 12 months and it will get a lot of use.
I love this card design!
I didn’t realize you can change your card design. They have so many options. I can’t decide between an NHL card and the design you picked…but how often will I even use the card? 😀
