I just received an email today from eBay informing me they will no longer accept American Express cards as a payment method effective August 17. It’s okay because I use Apple Pay anyways when checking out on eBay, and can use any card I like there including the Kroger Rewards card which gets me 5% cashback.
Note: In the recent past I have had to do the eBay checkout process on my phone to get Apple Pay to work. I can load the cart with my Mac or PC but have needed to checkout on the phone.
I’m also trying out the Department Stores category this quarter on the US Bank Cash+ card for my eBay purchases. I recently heard that eBay purchases code as Department Stores on this card earning 5% cashback. I’ll report back how it goes.
