One of my 90 day BluPeak CD’s matured a couple days ago. I was getting 4.25% APY and it just now renewed to a paltry 0.25%. It was time to close it out. A friend suggested to me that I didn’t need to call it in, that I could just make the request via Secure Message (SM). So I decided to try out this method instead of the usual call.

Update 9/1/2024. John from Bank Account Bonus Central made a youtube video yesterday stating that there is $5k of CC funding when signing up for a new SkyOne Federal Credit Union account. For more details see the SkyOne Federal Credit Union section below.
Update 6/7/2024. Risen from the graveyard, BluPeak is now back, again offering $1500 credit card funding! I will continue to keep this list updated as often as possible. Please let me know if anything has changed.
The following is a list of bank accounts which allow $1000 or more in credit card funding:
Update 2024-08-20 I was contacted by an On Tap representative stating they couldn’t fund the CD with $4k, since their cap was $1000, even though the cap was removed from the application process and they let me type in $4k.
So I signed up for On Tap Checking back in early July. I CC funded that with $1,000 as that was the max I could fund it at the time. I screen record all my bank account applications, so below is a screenshot of my initial app for the On Tap Checking account, which shows the $1k cap. I funded the checking account with my Citi SP.
I just recently applied for First United Basic Checking account for the $250 sign up bonus. I was instantly approved despite a lot of recent Chex inquiries — so they seem lenient. I was pleasantly surprise to find that they offer $500 in credit card funding; even more exciting is that they accepted American Express. The details for the account are here on Profitable Content.
Signed up for On Tap Checking account a few days ago for the $150 sign up bonus as well as CC funding. I funded the account $1000 with my Citi Strata Premier.
I have several CD’s open as you may guess, since many banks all you to fund them with credit cards. Often after maturity date, the banks automatically renew the CD and usually at a much lower rate. For example, I opened up a CD with BluPeak Credit Union just over 6 months ago and I got over 4.5% for that six months. However it just matured a few days ago and automatically renewed at only 1%.
Note: In addition to details about this bank account in this article, I also share a lot of organizational details how I manage bank account bonus hunting.
I very recently applied for a U.S. Bank Smartly Checking personal checking account for a $500 sign up bonus. I was approved with no problems.
