Update 9/17/2024. I am told that Pepper is now coding as Computer Software again (MCC 5734) on Amex for 4x MR — we’ll see. Pepper is so up in the air. I won’t be surprised if this intermittently works with ABG in the future. And I am not sure if Pepper is even sustainable. But I’ll work it while it lasts! Can’t resist 12-16x cashback on Amazon, Walmart, Sam’s Club etc.

Pepper is a great app for purchasing dozens of various popular eGift cards at great discounts — you also have immediate access to the gift card after purchasing it with no delays. At this time of writing, Pepper often has 10x discount boosts on Amazon, Walmart, Sam’s Club, etc. eGift cards.
We used to get 4x MR when purchasing a Pepper eGift card with Amex Business Gold. The following are some alternatives.
Alternatives. Purchase the eGift card with a 2-4% CB card — e.g. Citi Double Cash, Synchrony Premier, BofA Unlimited Cash Preferred Rewards, Robinhood Gold, US Bank Smartly VISA, etc.
I’ve heard that BofA Customized Cash Online Purchases count for a minimum of 3% CB up to 5.25% CB depending on your Preferred Rewards tier status. I don’t have this card nor the status so I can’t confirm.
Also if you are working on the sign up bonus (SUB) of a new credit card, it perhaps makes sense to use it at whatever multiplier, to help meet minimum spend requirement (MSR) — especially during the 10x to 12x Pepper boosts.
