This is a simple frugal hack we are using now to save around $47 dollars per year. We really enjoy discovering dozens of little hacks like these which allow us to easily, automatically and permanently save this amount of money or more per year, sacrificing nothing.
After getting approved for a Chase Ink Business credit card, you can call them the very same day — right after approval — and have them expedite the shipment of the card to you. I am sure many are already aware of this, but I thought I’d share for those who weren’t.
I mentioned in my recent frugality related article on Rotating Streaming Services, that I had quit Amazon Prime a while back because I was not satisfied with the increased membership price, commercials in Prime Video, the prices and quality of their services. In that article I also gave a link to a MMM forum post where many others discuss why they have quit prime as well.

I just recently applied for First United Basic Checking account for the $250 sign up bonus. I was instantly approved despite a lot of recent Chex inquiries — so they seem lenient. I was pleasantly surprise to find that they offer $500 in credit card funding; even more exciting is that they accepted American Express. The details for the account are here on Profitable Content.
Signed up for On Tap Checking account a few days ago for the $150 sign up bonus as well as CC funding. I funded the account $1000 with my Citi Strata Premier.
I have several CD’s open as you may guess, since many banks all you to fund them with credit cards. Often after maturity date, the banks automatically renew the CD and usually at a much lower rate. For example, I opened up a CD with BluPeak Credit Union just over 6 months ago and I got over 4.5% for that six months. However it just matured a few days ago and automatically renewed at only 1%.

This is my first post of dozens on how we save money, sharing various frugality tips I’ve learned over the years. The frugality hacks add up to thousands upon thousands of dollars saved each year when implementing them all.
I’ll never share any uncomfortable, unsafe or unreasonable hacks. For example, a comfortable air conditioned home is very important to us and I will simply work an extra bank account bonus in a given year to recoup the $200 per year we would of otherwise saved by making the home uncomfortable year round by keeping the temperatures very high in the summer and low in the winter. Not only is this frugality idea uncomfortable, it is also dangerous as well since I am older and heat intolerant with some medical conditions. It’s easy to just spend two extra hours per year to work the single extra bank account needed for year round comfort and safety. Again I try and be reasonable here and not too obsessed with saving every penny.

Until now, when transferring money from another bank to Fidelity, I typically logged into the Fidelity portal and initiated an ACH Pull. This always resulted in a 7 to 10 day hold on the cash before I could transfer it out again.
